How do we identify this as SPAM, after all it is on a DHL header and background?

For a start, look at the grammar. “Our company’s courier couldn’t…”, note the lack of apostrophe in company’s and couldn’t. This is typical of the whole message which contains numerous errors like this.

Then there is the wording. “…make the delivery of parcel.” and “Label is enclosed to the letter.” and other phrases that are just plain bad English. This wasn’t written by a native English speaker.

What the message wants you to do is to open the attachment.

DON’T DO IT!

The attachment is a Trojan which will, most likely, either capture your address book and send out similar emails to your contacts or, worst of all, send back details of login names and passwords that you access using your browser.

Or it could install a virus.

Whatever, this message is a hoax. Delete it. Don’t even try to Unsubscribe – it will just confirm your email address to receive more SPAM.
